Description

AV Automotive Wire – PVC-Insulated Primary Cable for Vehicle Wiring Systems

AV wire is a standard automotive primary wire with PVC insulation, widely used in 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems. It is designed for general-purpose internal wiring in passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, and light commercial vehicles. Manufactured to meet  JASO D611 standards, AV wire is one of the most common choices for OEM and aftermarket vehicle harness assemblies.

The wire features a stranded bare copper conductor for flexibility and stable conductivity, paired with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation layer that offers good heat resistance, oil resistance, and abrasion resistance. AV wire is suitable for fixed wiring in dashboards, power distribution boxes, signal circuits, and lighting systems.

Key Features of AV Automotive Wire

  • Voltage rating: Typically 60V (12V/24V systems)

  • Temperature rating: -40°C to +80°C (some up to 105°C)

  • Insulation: Flame-retardant PVC

  • Conductor: Stranded bare copper

  • Compliant with JASO D611

  • Available in multiple AWG sizes and color options

Typical Applications

  • Automotive dashboards and interior wiring

  • Lighting circuits, blinkers, horn, and sensor connections

  • Power supply lines in control modules and fuse boxes

  • Motorcycle, scooter, and small EV wiring harnesses

  • Suitable for fixed routing, not for high-flex applications
